ovbq 1.4.9

Video and audio pages

On Pro and Business, share a video or audio recording through a page with a supported YouTube, Vimeo or SoundCloud link. The outside service handles playback and access to its recording.

On Pro and Business, you can also upload a supported MP4 video. Both the file-size and duration limits apply.

On Pro and Business, you can also upload an MP3 recording. Both the file-size and duration limits apply.

Recordings, captions, transcripts and poster images use your account's existing file storage. Read the video guide or audio guide before sharing your code.

Product barcode links

The free fixed maker accepts a supported HTTPS GS1 Digital Link containing a 14-digit GTIN. Choose Product barcode link, paste the identifier link and update the preview. Check the exact link and GTIN before downloading. Changing the printed link means making and printing a new code. Use a GTIN you have the right to use. This checks the supported format and check digit; it does not verify ownership, provide a resolver or guarantee retailer acceptance.

Business pages

On Pro and Business, a business page can show your name, introduction, visit information, weekly hours and contact links. Choose one main action, such as visiting your website, calling or opening your booking service. Hours use the business time zone. No hours means hours are not provided, not that the business is closed. This page type is separate from the Business subscription.

ovbq 1.4.8

Team access

Share selected codes with teammates using their own sign-ins. Choose Viewer or Editor and grant scan statistics, form-answer viewing and answer export separately. Personal accounts and billing stay separate. About team access.

Bulk creation from CSV

Check up to 100 data rows from a CSV before creating their QR codes together. Review errors, then download the saved results and QR images. Repeated rows create separate codes; an import has no undo. About bulk creation from CSV.

QR code API

Create API keys with the permissions your tool needs to manage supported codes and read recorded scan counts. Each key is shown once; current limits are 10 active keys and 60 calls per key per UTC minute. About QR code API.

Webhook notifications

Queue signed scan and form-submission notifications for hourly delivery to your chosen HTTPS destination. They contain references, not answer text or individual scan details. Check delivery history; delayed or repeated notifications are possible. About webhook notifications.

Workflows with Zapier

A setup recipe shows how to use your own Webhooks by Zapier workflow with the available API or webhook method. This is not an ovbq Zapier app listing. About workflows with Zapier.

Google Sheets CSV feed

Use a read-only CSV feed for code keys, names and recorded scan counts in a spreadsheet. Treat its link like a password. Your spreadsheet fetches the CSV; ovbq does not sign in to Google or write cells. About Google Sheets CSV feed.

QR artwork for Canva

Download QR artwork for manual upload to your own Canva design. There is no automatic transfer, and uploaded copies do not change when you edit the artwork's appearance. About QR artwork for Canva.

ovbq 1.4.7

Page languages

On Pro and Business, use Page language on the code page to choose from the reviewed languages offered for that page type. Save the setting, then test the saved page. This changes page labels and messages; it does not translate what you write. Your account stays in English. If a saved language is unavailable, page labels and messages fall back to English. Existing English and Spanish menus remain available.

The full notice about who runs a form and how answers are handled stays in English.

ovbq 1.4.6

Choose how each Payment link opens: show a check page first (recommended), or go straight to the payment page (PayPal, Venmo, Cash App and Stripe links; others always show the check page). Saved access restrictions apply to both. About payment links.

ovbq 1.4.4

Picture galleries

On Pro and Business, a picture gallery shows your photos, descriptions and captions on one page. Add, move and remove photos in the draft, then choose Save gallery. The editor shows your photo limit. Stored pictures, thumbnails and uploads waiting to be saved use your shared file storage. Use photos you have the right and permission to publish; people who can open the page may save copies.

ovbq 1.4.3

Forms and form-answer terms

On Pro and Business, you can make a form on a page we host. People answer on the page, and you can read their answers, download them as a CSV file or delete an answer. Choose how long to keep answers and whether to receive a daily summary, emails with answers or no emails. A daily summary is the default. About forms.

The Terms (section 25 and section 26) and the Privacy Policy (section 19) now cover forms.

Event invites and event pages

Make a free fixed Event invite, or an editable Event page with the date, time and place. A supported scanner offers to add a fixed invite to a calendar; the page has an Add to calendar action. You can edit the hosted page without reprinting. Details already saved in a calendar do not update automatically. About event codes.

Payment links

Make an editable code that opens an external payment page. Payment takes place with the provider; ovbq does not take, hold or send the money.

No. A Payment link opens an external payment page you choose. The payment happens with that provider, not with ovbq. Check the address and recipient before sharing the code. Use the provider's page to check payment status; ovbq does not know whether someone paid. Provider names are shown as text and do not mean the provider endorses ovbq.

For each code, choose a check page first (recommended) or go straight to the payment page. The check page shows the recipient label, provider and destination before people choose whether to continue. Going straight is available only for PayPal, Venmo, Cash App and Stripe links; links to other sites always show the check page. Saved access restrictions apply to both choices.

A free fixed Website link can already hold a payment-page URL; its printed destination cannot be edited. The dedicated editable Payment link uses one editable code on Pro and Business.

About payment links.

Saved looks

Save an appearance to reuse, preview it on another code, then apply it. Saved looks copy appearance; renaming or deleting one does not change existing codes. Saved looks.

JPG downloads

JPG is now available alongside the existing download formats. Use SVG or PNG for print. Choosing a file.

Round outer shape

Choose Square or Round for the outer background. Round keeps the complete square code and its plain border inside the circular background. Test a printed copy at its final size. About shape.

Contact page photos

Add an optional photo to a contact card page. Pages protected with a code password show initials instead. The downloaded contact file does not include the photo. Use a photo you have the right and permission to publish. Contact page photos.

Weekly scan email

Get a weekly summary of recorded scans for your editable codes, with no form answers or visitor details.

Yes. Weekly scan email summarizes recorded scans for your editable codes and sends them to your account email. It covers the dates and time zone shown in the email and uses the same counting rules and plan limits as your account. A scan is not a unique person or a payment. It includes no form answers or visitor details. Weekly scan email is off until you turn it on in account settings. You can change the setting independently of form-answer emails. Turning this summary off does not stop sign-in, billing, security or legal emails.

ovbq 1.4.2

On Pro and Business, you can now ask for a password before protected content opens through your code. Set, replace or remove the password from its code page. About code passwords.

On Business, editable Website link codes can now choose different links by device information, browser language or time of day. You add, reorder and remove rules from the code page. Every condition in a rule must match. Rules run in order, with the first match used and the main link if none matches. About rules for links.

ovbq 1.4.1

File storage is now shown on the plans: Pro holds 200 MB and Business holds 1 GB. Each file can be up to 10 MB. The plan you pick shows its file storage before you pay, and your dashboard shows how much you have used. These are the limits the plans already had. About file storage.

ovbq 1.4

Organize your editable codes with labels on every plan. Removing a label leaves the codes and their links unchanged. About labels.

Find codes by type, label or status alongside search. Bookmark a filtered page to use it again. About filters.

On Pro and Business, choose when a code starts and stops opening, using your chosen time zone. Outside those times, it shows a notice. About start and end dates.

The plans, help and statistics pages now explain how long recorded scan details are kept: 24 months on every plan. A code's all-time count can include older scans. About recorded scan history.

ovbq 1.3: link pages and coupons

New kinds of editable codes come with Pro and Business.

A link-in-bio page puts your name, a short line, buttons with icons and your social links on one page. Choose a Stack or Pattern look and edit your links without changing the printed code. About link pages.

A coupon page shows your offer and any terms you add. Add a code and a last day if you need them. After the last day, in your chosen time zone, the page says the offer has ended. About coupons.

ovbq 1.2.3: clearer limits, clearer messages

Limits now read the same way in the maker and its messages: "100 characters or fewer", "1 MB or smaller". The print sheet explains when a width is too large and tells you to choose a bigger size when a code would not scan, and Copies no longer drops to zero. The delete page says what a code does when someone scans it. The review card check now stops or warns about more words that review rules ban, such as rewards, coupons and the star symbols. The Terms summary and the pricing page say when we refund, and the security and privacy pages describe our cookie more exactly. The export page lists every kind of code, the dashboard counts live and paused codes, the Wi-Fi name counter matches the limit, and call and text numbers drop a leading (0).

October 23, 2026

ovbq 1.2.2: tidier pages and plainer labels

Pages now fit small screens and large text better, with even spacing across the home, plans, account and code pages. Downloads are named the same way everywhere, such as "Download your links (CSV)" and "Download scans (CSV)".

ovbq 1.2.1: menu pages and files on the home, plans and compare pages

Menu pages and files we host now show on the home page, with a link to the plans that include them. The plans table and the compare page list them too. There is a new guide, How to turn an image into a QR code. The page on stopping payment now says that a menu page or file we host is kept, not deleted.

ovbq 1.2: menu pages and hosted files

On Pro and Business, an editable code can now open a menu page or a file we host. A menu page has sections like Breakfast and Lunch, with hours that mark the one you're serving now, items with prices and dietary tags, and your time zone. It comes in English or Spanish. Or upload a PDF, a JPEG or a PNG, up to 10 MB, and the code opens it. Replace the file or change the menu, and your printed codes stay the same. How to make a QR code menu and how to put a PDF behind a QR code.

ovbq 1.1: WhatsApp chat codes

You can now make a free QR code that opens a WhatsApp chat with your number, with a message ready if you like. The person scanning can change the message, and they press send. It's free, with no account, like our other fixed codes. That makes 12 free types. How to make a WhatsApp QR code and WhatsApp QR codes for business.

ovbq 1.0

Everything below is part of ovbq 1.0, our first complete version. Editable codes can now open a call, a text, an email or a page we host for you, Pro and Business come as yearly plans, and you can print review cards for Google and Yelp, with a check that stops or warns about words their rules ban. Your printed codes keep working exactly as before.

Five more free code types

You can now make a QR code that calls a phone number, shows a place on a map, opens a social profile, opens your Google review page, or opens your Yelp page. Each one is free, with no account, and checks your link so the code opens the right page. Make a free code.

Yearly plans

Pro and Business now come as yearly plans too, at 12 months for the price of 10: Pro is $90 a year and Business $290 a year. Monthly plans stay as they are, and you can switch between monthly and yearly in Manage billing. A switch from yearly to monthly starts when your paid year ends. See pricing.

Editable codes that call, text or email

An editable code can now open a phone call, a text message or an email, as well as a web page. While your plan allows editing, change the number or address without replacing your printed codes. Saved pauses and access restrictions still apply. These come with Pro and Business. What an editable code can open.

Pages we host for you

No website? On Pro and Business, an editable code can open a simple page on ovbq:

  • a contact card, with an "Add to contacts" button;
  • a Wi-Fi page, with the network name and password ready to copy, shown at once or behind a "Show password" button;
  • a text page;
  • an app download link, which sends iPhones to the App Store and Android phones to Google Play.

Edit the page without reprinting while your plan allows editing.

Review cards

Print a card that asks for reviews, as a table tent, a counter card, a receipt card or a sticker, at ovbq.com/cards. Here is what the cards do:

  • a Google card asks for a review;
  • a Yelp card only says "Find us on Yelp", as Yelp asks;
  • the cards use words only, with no stars next to Google's name;
  • a check stops or warns about words the review rules ban, such as rewards and discounts.

Images for receipt printers

Print your code at the bottom of every receipt. Download a black-and-white image sized for 80 mm or 58 mm receipt printers (576 or 384 dots wide, at 203 dpi), and add it as your register's receipt logo.

A size warning for busy codes

A code that holds a lot has more, smaller dots, so it needs more room. When a busy code is printed small, the checker now says "Risky" and tells you the size to print it at. How big should a QR code be?

Easier to use with a keyboard and screen reader

We fixed the problems our own accessibility review found. Tables that scroll sideways are labeled regions you can reach with the keyboard, error messages are announced and cleared as you fix a field, and an error from our server goes away when you change that field. If something is still hard to use, tell us.

Five more pages for the way you use codes, four new guides and a guides page

Ideas and sizes for product packaging, weddings, vacation rentals, trades and teachers. Plus four new guides:

Every guide is now on one page: Guides.

New looks

Dot styles, gradients, frames with a short message, and starter templates for menus, Wi-Fi signs and more. Each look comes with a rating of how well it should scan. Looks are free on codes from the home page. On editable codes, they come with Pro and Business. Try a look.

Scans by country

On Pro and Business, each editable code now shows which countries its scans come from. We keep only the country, never the address, and never a city or GPS position. Countries with only a few scans are counted together as "All other countries".

Pages for salons, gyms, churches and more

Ideas and sizes for salons and spas, for gyms and fitness studios, and for churches and nonprofits, plus a free Wi-Fi sign for guests and a code for your business card. See every use case.

Nine new guides

When a code goes wrong: why a QR code stops working, what to check when it won't scan and how to change its link after printing. Before you print: a code that never expires, adding a logo or icon, which file to use, and printing many codes on one sheet. And two more: putting a PDF behind a code and what scan tracking shows.

Every free code type, signed in or not

Wi-Fi, contact card, text, email and text message codes are now one step away whether or not you're signed in. You don't need to sign out to make a free Wi-Fi sign. Make a free code.

PDF and EPS downloads

Along with PNG and SVG, you can now download a PDF or an EPS, made at the width you choose. Print shops that ask for one of these can have it, and we won't make one smaller than the print checker's minimum. Which file to use.

The print sheet

Put many copies of a code on one Letter or A4 page, with crop marks and an optional caption. It's ready for table cards, stickers and labels. Make a print sheet.

Four pages for the way you use codes

Ideas and sizes for restaurants, print shops, real estate and events: where codes go, how big to print them, and when an editable code saves a reprint.

Two printing guides

Static or editable QR code? explains which kind to print. How to print QR codes that scan gives the sizes, colors and border to use.

October 20, 2026

Logos and icons

Put one of 16 icons, or your own logo, in the middle of a code. It's free on codes from the home page. On editable codes, it comes with Pro and Business. We raise the code's strength for you, so it still scans. How logos work.

Your code list fits your screen

The list of codes on your dashboard now fits small screens too, without scrolling sideways, so you can find a code and change its link from your phone.
