How to make a QR code coupon

Put an offer on a page people can open with a scan. Add your terms, and a code and last day if you need them. Customers show it at checkout. Update the offer without printing the QR code again.

Make your coupon page

  1. Choose Coupon for an editable code. Coupon pages are included on Pro and Business and use your plan's shared code allowance.
  2. Write the offer and your business name. Say exactly what customers get. If they need a code at checkout, add it and explain where to show it.
  3. Add your terms and an optional last day. Explain limits, such as which items qualify or whether a minimum purchase applies. If you set a last day, check the business time zone so the offer ends on the right day.
  4. Test before printing. Scan the code and check the offer, code, terms and date. Put an instruction beside the printed code, such as "Scan for this month's offer."

Show at checkout

The page shows your offer; it does not take payment or mark a coupon as redeemed. Your business decides whether a customer qualifies and applies the offer at checkout. This offer is from your business, not from ovbq.

Before printing, ask whoever will honor the coupon to open the page and check the offer and terms. If you use a checkout code, make sure staff recognize it. When you update the offer, tell staff what changed so the page and checkout instructions agree.

When the offer ends

If you set a last day, the page shows that the offer has expired after that day in your chosen time zone. The offer ending alone does not stop the code opening the page. A separate code schedule, pause or other restriction can still do so. Check the terms and date whenever you change the offer.

Reuse the printed code

Change the page for your next offer instead of replacing every printed copy. Restaurants and salons can use it for a clearly described promotion. Keep a date or a specific discount out of the printed caption if you plan to reuse it. Learn how to change a QR code's link and what scan tracking shows.

Keep offers separate from reviews

Do not offer a coupon, discount or reward in exchange for a Google review. See the Google review QR code guide for the rules.
