How to set a QR code's start and end dates

On Pro and Business, choose when an editable code can open its destination. These are dates you choose, separate from a trial ending or an offer's last day.

Choose the dates and time zone

  1. Sign in, open the code in Your codes, then find Start and end dates.
  2. Enter a start, an end, or both. Use YYYY-MM-DD for a date or YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM for a date and time.
  3. Choose the time zone both dates use, then choose Save dates.

The start time is included. An exact date-time end is excluded: at that instant, the destination stops opening. A date-only end includes the whole day in your chosen time zone, wherever someone scans the code. Leave either date empty for no limit at that end.

If a time is skipped or repeated when the clocks change, choose another time. There is no automatic choice between the two occurrences of a repeated local time. The saved owner settings show the actual local dates in the saved zone.

What visitors see outside the dates

Before the start, people see that the code is not active yet. After the end, they see that its scheduled period has ended. The notice does not open the protected destination. Any pause still applies.

You can choose to add a public message and a separate public link to the notice. Leave that option off for the generic notice. Write only what you want every visitor to see. The link must not point to the protected destination or bypass the schedule.

Change or remove dates

Open the code, change the dates and save. To remove the schedule, clear both dates and confirm the removal. Removing a schedule leaves any other restriction in place.

The dates you set do not disappear because your plan becomes smaller or ends, or because we turn off new creation of date settings. When your plan or the feature's availability prevents changes, the saved settings are shown read-only, but you can remove them deliberately.

Other dates that can affect a code

A coupon's optional last day marks its offer as ended. That date alone does not stop the printed code opening the coupon page; a separate code schedule, pause or other restriction can still do so. If you use both offer dates and code dates, check them separately.
