Event QR codes: calendar invites and event pages
Put an event on an invitation, poster or table card with a QR code. Choose a fixed calendar invitation when the details are final, or an editable event page when you may need to change them.
Choose the invitation people will open
An Event invite holds the calendar details in the code itself. Choose Event invite in the free maker, without an account. A supported scanner offers to add the event to a calendar; the visitor chooses whether to save it. The printed details cannot be changed. If the time or place changes, make and print a new code.
An Event page is hosted on ovbq behind an editable code. Choose Event page in your account. Add the date, time, place and any event links, then change that page while your plan allows editing. Visitors who can open the page can read the details and choose Add to calendar. Your printed code stays the same. See pricing for availability.
Set the dates and time zone
- Give the event a clear title. Add its place or address and the details visitors need before they arrive.
- Choose all day or a timed event. For an all-day event, the end date is the last day of the event. For a timed event, enter the start and end times and choose the event's time zone.
- Check the end. A timed event must end after it starts. Enter the date it actually ends on, including for an event that crosses midnight.
- Check the invitation in a calendar before printing. Confirm the title, dates, times and place after importing, as well as on the preview.
Use the time zone of the event rather than assuming every guest has the same clock setting. Calendar applications can display a timed event in the guest's own time zone. If a time cannot be used because clocks change, choose another time as the editor asks.
When an event changes
For a hosted event, edit its page while your plan allows. People who can open the page see the saved details. Editing that page does not automatically update an event someone has already saved in their calendar. Tell those guests about the change separately.
A fixed invitation has no editable page behind it. Keep a date or venue out of a reusable printed caption unless you are prepared to replace the print when those details change.
Test the printed invitation
Print one copy at the intended size. Scan it and try the calendar action on the devices your guests use. A successful scan and a correct calendar import are separate checks. The code offers an invitation; it does not confirm attendance or sell a ticket.
