Help and questions

Answers to the questions people ask most. Still stuck? Write to hello@ovbq.com.

Do my codes expire?

No. A fixed code from the home page holds your link or text inside the code itself, so it works for as long as the print lasts, with or without ovbq. An editable code has no forced end date. Its owner can pause it. Any saved dates or password still apply. It works for as long as it is in your account and allowed to open.

Step by step: A QR code that never expires

What happens if I stop paying?

Your printed codes keep working, apart from the exceptions in Terms section 13. For 30 days nothing changes and we email you reminders. After that, your 2 oldest website-link codes stay on Free, live or paused as you left them. The others show a short notice. A paused form stops taking answers, but you can still read, download and delete the answers you have. The number of days you chose for keeping answers still applies. Other codes show a notice; any continue action follows the code's access restrictions. Pay again and your paused codes come back at once, oldest first, as many as your plan has room for. Nothing is deleted because your plan ended.

What happens if you stop paying

Any saved dates or password still apply. Continue checks those restrictions before the destination opens.

Can I use my own domain?

Not yet. Every editable code uses an ovbq.com short link for now. On every plan, Free included, you can download a list of your short links and where each one points.

What do you track?

For fixed codes from the home page: nothing is tracked. Scanning one never touches ovbq.

When someone scans an editable code, we count the scan and note the time, the rough type of device, its system and browser, and the website that sent them if there was one. On Pro and Business we also note the country the scan came from. We never record a city or GPS position. The redirect sets no cookies. Paused and refused requests are not recorded.

We do not store raw IP addresses in our scan database. Recorded scans contain a daily one-way hash of the network address to count how many different network addresses scanned each day. The hash stays with its scan record for up to 24 months; the daily random value used to make it is deleted within about 3 days. Our host keeps separate server access logs; see our Privacy Policy.

Step by step: What QR code tracking shows

Can I see where my scans come from?

Yes, by country, on Pro and Business. Each editable code's page shows up to the 10 countries with the most scans in the last 30 days, worked out from the phone's network address at the moment of the scan. It's approximate: a VPN or a company network can show the wrong country. We name a country only when it has 10 or more scans; the rest are shown together as "All other countries". We never record cities or GPS positions.

Do you track my visitors' location?

Only the country, and only for editable codes on Pro and Business. When someone scans one, we look up the country of their network address on our own server, keep the two-letter country code and add it to a daily count. We don't store their raw IP address, and we never record their city, street or GPS position. Fixed codes from the home page aren't tracked at all.

What is the difference between a fixed code and an editable code?

A fixed code holds your content directly. Once printed it can never change, and you need no account to make one. An editable code holds a short ovbq link. You choose where that link goes and can change it after printing. Editable codes need a free account and also count their scans. An editable code can open a web page on any plan, and on Pro and Business also a call, a text, an email, or a page or file we host for you. See what an editable code can open.

Step by step: Static or editable QR code?

What are the rules for asking for reviews?

Offer nothing in return for a review, and show your code to every customer, not only happy ones. Don't ask for a star rating. On Yelp, don't ask for reviews at all. Say "Find us on Yelp" instead. These come from Google's and Yelp's own rules and the FTC's rule on reviews.

What can an editable code open?

A web page, any link that starts with http:// or https://, on every plan. On Pro and Business it can also open:

  • a phone call: scanning offers to call your number;
  • a text message to your number, with a message filled in if you like;
  • an email to your address, with a subject and message filled in if you like;
  • a text page, for a short note, rules or instructions;
  • a Wi-Fi page, with the network name and password ready to copy, shown at once or behind a "Show password" button;
  • a contact card page, with your details and an "Add to contacts" button;
  • an app download link: iPhones go to your app in the App Store, Android phones to Google Play, and anything else sees a page with your links;
  • a menu page, with sections, items, prices and hours, and the section being served now marked;
  • a PDF or image we host: the code opens your file, and you can replace the file later.
  • a form with your questions and answers you can read and download;
  • a link-in-bio page with your buttons and social links;
  • a coupon page with your offer and terms, and an optional code and last day.

You choose what a code opens when you make it. After that, you can edit the number, address or page while your plan allows. The printed code stays the same. Saved pauses and access restrictions still apply.

To join a Wi-Fi network in one tap, use a free fixed Wi-Fi code from the home page. Phones join only from the details inside the code, so a Wi-Fi page shows the details instead.

Can I collect answers with a QR code?

Yes, on Pro and Business. Choose Form to make a page we host, then add your questions. Each form uses one editable code from your plan. You can ask up to 20 questions using ratings, short or long answers, choices, email addresses and phone numbers.

Read answers in your account, download them as a CSV file or delete an answer. Visitors cannot see other visitors' answers. Your business name appears on the form, along with your privacy-policy link if you add one. You decide what to ask and how to use the answers. Do not collect passwords, financial account details, government ID numbers or other information the form rules prohibit. Form rules · How ovbq handles answers.

A daily summary is the default. It summarizes the previous day in UTC when answers came in and does not include what people typed. You can instead choose emails with answers or no email. Emails with answers may include names and contact details, may group submissions together, and show up to five submissions with each response shortened to 500 characters. Read all remaining answers on the Answers page.

Choose a keep time of 1 to 365 days, with 365 days by default. Each answer is deleted within an hour after its time is up. Download any you need first. Shortening the time can delete older answers after you confirm. Emails already sent and CSV files you downloaded keep their copies.

Each form can take up to 500 answers per UTC day. Spam and rate checks can refuse a submission; the page tells a person when to correct answers or wait. A paused form takes no new answers. You can still read, download and delete remaining answers after a paid plan ends or new answers are switched off, while you can sign in. Their keep time continues to apply.

Feedback goes to your business; it does not publish a Google review. Build a form with a QR code.

Who can see the answers to my form?

You can read them on your Answers page. Visitors cannot see other visitors' answers. Download answers as CSV or delete an answer. Choose a keep time of 1 to 365 days, with 365 days by default. Each answer is deleted within an hour after its keep time is up. Emails already sent and downloaded CSV files keep their copies. How ovbq handles answers.

Can I get emails about answers?

Yes. A daily summary of the previous UTC day is the default, sent when answers came that day. It includes counts, rating averages and choice totals, without what people typed. Choose emails with answers if you want typed responses by email, or no email. Emails with answers may group submissions together and show up to five submissions with each response shortened to 500 characters. Emails go to your account address. Read all remaining answers on the Answers page.

Can I link my business's privacy policy?

Yes. Add your Privacy policy link in the form editor, starting with https://. It appears on the form so people can read it before answering. The page names your business as the one running the form. How ovbq handles answers.

What happens if my form is paused?

It stops taking answers. You can still read, download and delete remaining answers while you can sign in. Their keep time still applies, including after a paid plan ends or new answers are switched off. Deleting the code deletes its form and answers, so download any you need first.

A link-in-bio page puts your name, a short line, up to 8 buttons with icons and your social links on one page. People scan one code and choose where to go. Choose a Stack or Pattern look. It comes with Pro and Business. Edit your links without changing the printed code. How to make one QR code for your links.

What is a coupon page?

A coupon page shows your offer and terms. Add a code to show at checkout and a last day if you need them. The last day ends in the time zone you choose. After that day, the page says the offer has ended. Add a More offers link to give people somewhere to go after it ends. Coupons come with Pro and Business. It is your business's offer: ovbq shows the page and does not take payments, redeem a coupon or apply a discount. How to make a QR code for your coupon.

Use this page for an offer you will honor as written. Not for gift cards, gift certificates, prepaid cards, stored balances or rewards for reviews or ratings. Do not sell anything or take payment through this page. See Terms sections 6 and 25.

What kinds of QR codes can I make?

On the home page, for free and with no account: a website link, Wi-Fi, a contact card, text, an email, a text message, a WhatsApp chat, a phone call, a location, a social profile, a Google review link and a Yelp page, plus Event invites and Product barcode links. All of these are fixed codes. With a free account, a website link can also be made editable, and on Pro and Business a call, a text, an email, or a page or file we host. See what an editable code can open.

What does a text message code do?

Scanning it opens a new text to your number, with your message filled in if you like. Type the number with + and the country code if people may text from abroad, like +1 954 555 0100. The message can be up to 300 characters. Nothing is sent until the person presses send. It's free, with no account. Scan the finished code with your own phone before you print.

Can I make a QR code that opens a WhatsApp chat?

Yes. Choose WhatsApp chat and type your number with the country code, like +1 954 555 0100, and add a message if you like. Scanning the code opens a chat with that number in WhatsApp. If you added a message, it's typed in, and the person can change it. Nothing is sent until they press send. Anyone who scans can see your number and message, so use a business number you're happy to share. It's a fixed code, so it's free, needs no account and can't be changed after printing. To change the number later, make an editable website link that points at your WhatsApp link. How to make a WhatsApp QR code.

Can I make a QR code that calls my phone number?

Yes. Choose Phone call and type your number. Scanning the code offers to call it. Add + and the country code if people may call from abroad, like +1 954 555 0100. Spaces, dashes and parentheses are fine, but not letters, * or #. It's a fixed code, so it's free and needs no account, and it can't be changed after printing.

Can I make a QR code for my address or location?

Yes. Choose Location. Scanning the code shows the place on a map. For a shop or building, pick "A place or address" and type its name and street, like Main Street Bakery, 12 Main St. A maps link won't work there, and the form says so. For a spot with no address, pick "Map coordinates" and type the latitude first, then the longitude, like 26.2712, -80.2706.

Can a QR code open my Instagram or Facebook page?

Yes. Choose Social profile, pick the network (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest or Threads), and type your @name or paste your profile link. If you paste a link to a post, reel or video, the form asks for your profile instead, except on X and TikTok, where the code opens the profile named in the link. Share links like fb.me, m.me, ig.me, pin.it, lnkd.in, t.co and vm.tiktok.com hide the profile too, so the form asks for the profile's own link.

How do I make a QR code for Google reviews?

Choose Google review link. On a computer, open your Business Profile, choose Read Reviews, then Get more reviews, then Copy, and paste that link. Scanning the code opens your review form on Google. A map share link or a profile link may open your profile instead, so the form asks for the Get more reviews link. People must be signed in to Google to post. The rules for asking.

Can I make a QR code for my Yelp page?

Yes. Choose Yelp page. Scanning the code opens your business page on Yelp, so print "Find us on Yelp" next to it. Yelp asks businesses not to request reviews. Open your business on yelp.com and copy the page's address, which starts with yelp.com/biz/. A search or events link isn't a business page, and a yelp.to short link hides it. If you paste a write-a-review link, we change it to your page link.

Do I need an account to make a fixed code?

No. Fill out the form on the home page and download the file. We do not save what you type into the free maker. The one exception is "Make it editable", which keeps only the link and its strength until you sign in.

I'm signed in. Can I still make a free fixed code?

Yes. Choose "Make a free code" at the top of any page. Fixed codes are free on every plan. They aren't saved in your account, because they hold your content inside the code itself, so download the file before you leave the page.

I have a PDF menu and no website. What can I do?

On Pro and Business, upload it to ovbq. Make an editable code, choose PDF or image, and choose your file: a PDF, JPEG or PNG up to 10 MB. The code opens it, and you can replace the file later without reprinting. For a menu that reads well on a phone, you can also build a menu page with sections, hours and prices. See how to make a QR code menu.

On the Free plan, a free file-sharing service can host the PDF. Upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive, set it so anyone with the link can view it, and copy that share link. Then make an editable code that points to it. When the menu changes, upload the new file and point the code at its new link: the printed code stays the same. Step by step.

Step by step: Put a PDF behind a QR code

Which file should I give my print shop?

The SVG or the PDF. Both are vector files, so they stay sharp at any size, and the PDF uses the print width you chose. If the shop asks for EPS, you can download that too. For many copies on one page, use the print sheet. Use the PNG for documents, websites and social posts.

Step by step: Which QR code file to use

Can I get a PDF of my QR code?

Yes. Next to the print checker, choose PDF. It's a vector file, so it stays sharp at any size. It uses the print width you enter in the checker, or the smallest safe size for your scan distance if you leave it empty. We refuse a size too small to scan. There's an EPS too, for older design and print software.

How do I print many QR codes on one page?

Choose "Print several copies on one page". Pick Letter or A4 paper, and 1 to 100 copies per page. We space them out with crop marks. You can add a caption under each one naming the code type, such as Website link. Print the PDF at actual size (100%), with page scaling off, then cut along the marks. For table tents, counter cards and stickers, use printable QR code cards.

How big should I print it?

It depends on how far away people will stand, and on how much is in your code. The code itself, without its border, should be at least one tenth of the scan distance and never under 2 cm (about 0.8 in). Each of its dots should be at least 0.7 mm wide. The checker beside the preview works this out for you, and it won't make a file that's too small to scan.

Step by step: How to print QR codes that scan

Can I add a logo?

Yes. On fixed codes from the home page it is free: pick one of our 16 icons or add your own file. On editable codes it comes with Pro and Business. The logo sits in the middle on a plain square and covers at most a quarter of the width, or a fifth on a dense code. The code then uses a higher strength (High, or Highest for a large logo on a small code) so phones can still read it. Always test a printed copy first.

Step by step: Add a logo or icon to a QR code

Which icons can I put in my QR code?

We have 16 simple icons, such as a globe, Wi-Fi, a phone, a map pin, a fork and knife, a coffee cup and a star. They're free on fixed codes from the home page. An icon is drawn in your code's color. The one that fits your type of code comes first, marked "Suggested".

What kind of logo file can I upload?

A PNG or JPEG, 1 MB or smaller, up to 4 million pixels and 4,000 on a side. It's free on fixed codes. On an editable code's page, uploads come with Pro and Business. We redraw it as a new PNG without hidden file details. On the home page, choose small, medium or large. On a dense code, the logo is limited to 20% of the width.

I moved to the Free plan. Where did my logo go?

It's still saved. On the Free plan, editable codes are black on white with no logo, so new downloads and previews leave it out. Your printed codes don't change. Pick Pro or Business again and your logo comes back. To remove it for good, choose No logo on the code's page and save.

Why does the checker say "Check", "Risky" or "Won't scan"?

"Check" means the code will probably scan, but something could cause trouble, such as light dots on a dark background or a size that is small for the distance. "Risky" on the Size line means the code holds a lot, so at this width its dots are under 0.9 mm. We show the size to print it at, and you can still download it. The Scannability line also rates every code Good, Fair or Risky, with its reasons. "Won't scan" means many phones would fail to read it, so we ask you to fix it before you download.

Can I pause or delete a code?

Yes. A paused code shows a notice; any continue action follows its access restrictions. You can resume a code you paused yourself while your plan allows. If it is paused because your plan ended, your plan needs room for it again. Exceptions are listed in Terms section 13. Deleting a code retires its short link for good: printed copies show a page saying the code is no longer active, and we never give that short link to anyone else.

How do I sign in?

Enter your email address and we send you a link that signs you in. There is no password to remember. The link works once and expires after 15 minutes.

How do I cancel?

Open your account page and choose Cancel plan or Manage billing. You can cancel at any time, and your plan keeps working until the end of the month or year you paid for. Your codes then follow the steps on what happens if you stop paying.

A menu page is a page we host for your code, on Pro and Business. You add sections like Breakfast and Lunch, and items with a name, a price, a description and dietary tags. Give a section hours and the page shows which one is being served now, or what starts next, in your time zone. The page can be in English or Spanish. There are no item photos. We ask search engines not to list pages we host. How to make a QR code menu.

What files can I host with a code?

On Pro and Business, an editable code can open a PDF, a JPEG or a PNG that we host. Each file can be up to 10 MB. We check every file before we host it, and we don't host PDFs with scripts, forms or attached files. If we refuse a file, the message says why and what to change. While your plan allows file changes, replacing a file leaves the printed code unchanged; the old file is deleted. Pro includes 200 MB and Business 1 GB: see How much can I store? Guides: how to put a PDF behind a QR code and how to turn an image into a QR code.

How much can I store?

Pro includes 200 MB of file storage and Business includes 1 GB. Every file you host counts toward your plan's storage, at the size we store it, and so does a file attached to a menu page. When you replace a file, the old one is deleted and its space comes back. You can also delete a file you no longer need. If you reach the limit, you can't add or swap files until you are under it. We never delete a file because of the limit. If you move to a smaller plan and your files are over its limit, they stay up. See the plans.

How do I make my PDF readable for everyone?

A screen reader can read a PDF only if it has real text. A scan or a photo of a printed page is a picture, so it reads as nothing. Make the PDF from your word processor or design program (choose Save as PDF or Export), not from a scan. Use large text and one column. Or put your menu on a menu page, where the words are on the page itself. ovbq can't make a file accessible for you.

How do I report a page or file someone made with ovbq?

Every page and file we host has a link at the bottom: Report this page, Report this menu or Report this file. Choose it, say what's wrong and send. You don't need an account.

A page said "That didn't go through". What do I do?

Our web host's security filter sometimes stops a request by mistake. It isn't anything you did, and the request didn't reach us, so nothing was changed. Go back and try again. If you see the same page, change any words that look like computer code and try again. Still stuck? Write to hello@ovbq.com and tell us which page you were on and what you were trying to do.

Can I switch to a yearly plan?

Yes. Sign in, open your Account page and choose Manage billing. Pro is $90 a year and Business is $290, billed once a year. When you switch from monthly, the unused part of your month is taken off the first yearly charge, and your year starts that day. A switch from yearly back to monthly waits until your paid year ends.

What happens if I cancel a yearly plan?

Your plan keeps working until the end of the year you paid for, and you aren't charged again. After that, your codes follow the same steps as any plan that ends: 30 days with nothing changed, then your 2 oldest website-link codes stay on Free, live or paused as you left them. Other codes show a notice; any continue action follows the code's access restrictions. Exceptions are listed in Terms section 13.

Do I get a refund if I cancel a yearly plan?

We don't refund unused months, except where the law requires it or when we end your plan for a reason that is not your doing. Your plan keeps working until the end of the year you paid for. At least 15 days before a yearly plan renews, and usually about five weeks before, we email you the date and the amount, with a link to cancel.

An ovbq code sent me somewhere harmful. What do I do?

Please tell us on the report page. We review reports and switch off codes that break our rules.

What are labels?

Labels help you organize editable codes in your account. Add a label such as Front counter, then filter your code list by it. Removing a label does not delete a code or change its link. Labels come with every plan. People who scan a code do not see its labels.

Can I save a filtered view?

Search your codes or choose a code type or status, then choose Apply filters. Bookmark the page to use that view again. Opening the bookmark brings back the search and filters. Choose Clear filters to return to the full list.

Can I choose when a code opens?

On Pro and Business, set a start, an end, or both, in the time zone you choose. The start time is included. Before the start and from an exact end time onward, the code shows a notice instead of the destination. If you enter an end date without a time, the whole day is included in your chosen time zone. A coupon's last day is separate from the dates for opening its code. Any pause or password still applies.

If your plan ends, no longer includes dates, or date settings become unavailable, saved dates still apply. You can remove them. Adding or changing dates needs an eligible plan and available date settings.

Read the guide.

How long do you keep recorded scans?

We keep recorded scan details for 24 months on every plan. Your code's all-time count can include older scans. Your plan's scan limit affects which scans are recorded, and its features determine which statistics you can view or download. Ending a plan does not by itself shorten the keeping time for recorded scans.

Read the guide.

Can I ask for a password before a code opens?

Yes, on Pro and Business. Set a password for the code and share it with the people you want to let through. You can replace or remove it from the code's page. Use a password you do not use for an account.

People who scan the code see a page asking for the password. The password is checked each time you open protected content through this code. If you open protected content again or request a separate file or contact download, you must enter the code's password again. If too many wrong passwords are tried from the same network, the code asks people to wait an hour.

Someone who opens the destination may share its address or a copy, so the destination keeps its own access rules. Changing a password does not take back downloaded copies. Any pause or opening dates still apply.

If your plan ends, no longer includes passwords, or password settings become unavailable, a saved password still applies. You can remove it. Setting or replacing a password needs an eligible plan and available password settings.

How to set a password on a QR code.

Can one code open different pages?

On Business, an editable Website link code can choose a page using device information, browser language or time of day in the time zone set for a rule. Browser information can be missing or wrong; it does not verify someone's identity or location.

Every condition in a rule must match. We check rules from top to bottom and use the first match; otherwise the code's main link opens. You can add up to 12 rules and move them up or down to change which one is checked first. A language such as en also matches en-GB and en-US, and we use the language the browser prefers most. If your plan or the feature switch no longer allows rules, we keep the settings but use the main link instead. Saved password and date restrictions still apply.

How to use one QR code with different links.

Can a QR code add an event to a calendar?

An Event invite puts the details in a fixed code. A supported scanner offers to add the event to a calendar; it does not add it automatically. The fixed maker is free and does not need an account. Details in an invite you have printed cannot be changed. Test the code with the scanner and calendar app your guests use before printing more copies.

An Event page is a page we host behind an editable code. It shows the current date, time and place and has an Add to calendar action. You can update the page without reprinting. An event already saved in someone's calendar does not update when you change the page. After the event ends, the page still opens and says the event has passed, unless you separately restrict the code. This type does not collect RSVPs. Use a separate RSVP page if you need answers.

No. A Payment link opens an external payment page you choose. The payment happens with that provider, not with ovbq. Check the address and recipient before sharing the code. Use the provider's page to check payment status; ovbq does not know whether someone paid. Provider names are shown as text and do not mean the provider endorses ovbq.

For each code, choose a check page first (recommended) or go straight to the payment page. The check page shows the recipient label, provider and destination before people choose whether to continue. Going straight is available only for PayPal, Venmo, Cash App and Stripe links; links to other sites always show the check page. Saved access restrictions apply to both choices.

A free fixed Website link can already hold a payment-page URL; its printed destination cannot be edited. The dedicated editable Payment link uses one editable code on Pro and Business.

Can I reuse a code's appearance?

Save its colors, logo, shape and frame as a look, then preview and apply that look to another code. Choosing a look does not apply it by itself. Looks copy appearance; they do not copy the content, destination or access settings. Renaming or deleting a saved look does not change codes you already made. A new appearance also does not change images you already printed. Download and print a new image if you want the new appearance on paper.

Pro includes up to 20 saved looks; Business includes up to 100 saved looks. A saved look keeps its own copy of a redrawn logo. Stored logo copies count toward your shared file storage.

Which image format should I choose?

Use SVG or PNG for print. PNG keeps sharp edges for screens and documents too. Choose JPG if a program needs it; JPG compression can soften the code's edges. A JPG has a solid background. Use the preview and print checker, keep the plain border, and test a printed copy at its final size before making more copies.

What does Round change?

Round adds a circular background around the complete square code and its plain border. It does not cut off the corners. Shape is separate from dot style: the code's square grid stays intact.

Round is available in the free fixed maker. Appearance settings on editable codes follow your plan.

Keep the complete border and use the preview and print checker. Round uses more space around the same code, so at the same overall print width its small squares are smaller. You may need a wider print. Test a printed copy at its final size before making more copies.

Can I add a photo to my contact card?

Yes, you can add an optional photo to a contact card page. On a page without a code password, it appears beside the person's name, and people who can open the page can see and save it. A password-protected contact page shows initials instead, even after the password is entered. Use a photo you have the right and permission to publish. The downloaded contact file does not include the photo in this release. Removing the photo makes the page show initials instead; it cannot remove copies someone already saved.

Contact photos count toward your shared file-storage allowance at the size we store them.

Can I get scan counts by email?

Yes. Weekly scan email summarizes recorded scans for your editable codes and sends them to your account email. It covers the dates and time zone shown in the email and uses the same counting rules and plan limits as your account. A scan is not a unique person or a payment. It includes no form answers or visitor details. Weekly scan email is off until you turn it on in account settings. You can change the setting independently of form-answer emails. Turning this summary off does not stop sign-in, billing, security or legal emails.

Can I put a product identifier in a fixed code?

The free fixed maker accepts a supported HTTPS GS1 Digital Link containing a 14-digit GTIN. Choose Product barcode link, paste the identifier link and update the preview. Check the exact link and GTIN before downloading. Changing the printed link means making and printing a new code. Use a GTIN you have the right to use. This checks the supported format and check digit; it does not verify ownership, provide a resolver or guarantee retailer acceptance.

About product barcode links.

Can I choose the language of a hosted page?

On Pro and Business, use Page language on the code page to choose from the reviewed languages offered for that page type. Save the setting, then test the saved page. This changes page labels and messages; it does not translate what you write. Your account stays in English. If a saved language is unavailable, page labels and messages fall back to English. Existing English and Spanish menus remain available.

The full notice about who runs a form and how answers are handled stays in English.

Can one code show several photos?

On Pro and Business, a picture gallery shows your photos, descriptions and captions on one page. Add, move and remove photos in the draft, then choose Save gallery. The editor shows your photo limit. Stored pictures, thumbnails and uploads waiting to be saved use your shared file storage. Use photos you have the right and permission to publish; people who can open the page may save copies.

Make a picture gallery.

Can I make a page for my business information?

On Pro and Business, a business page can show your name, introduction, visit information, weekly hours and contact links. Choose one main action, such as visiting your website, calling or opening your booking service. Hours use the business time zone. No hours means hours are not provided, not that the business is closed. This page type is separate from the Business subscription.

Can someone help with my codes without using my sign-in?

Yes. Invite them using their own email sign-in, choose Viewer or Editor, and select the codes to share. Members see only those selected codes. Your personal sign-in, codes and billing stay with their owning account; joining a team does not merge accounts or transfer ownership.

Viewers can read and download selected code content. Editors can also change supported code names and content fields. Neither role can create or delete your codes, change form questions or retention, delete answers, or manage your billing, members, API keys, webhooks or feeds. Uploaded content, artwork and access settings keep their owner-only editors.

Viewing scan statistics, viewing form answers and exporting answers need separate permissions. Answer export also requires answer-viewing permission. Someone who can view an answer can copy it manually, even without CSV export permission.

Creating an invitation sends no email. Copy the private link when it is shown and share it with the invited person. They sign in with the invited address, check the invitation, then choose Accept invitation. Checking the link alone does not join the team.

Pending, unexpired invitations and members each use a seat; the owner does not. Exceeding the seat allowance pauses member access. Removing a member stops new access but keeps your content and their own account. A download already authorized may finish, and copies already downloaded remain.

Owner actions remain subject to the account's plan, code status and available tools. Members' personal plans do not expand the owning account's permissions.

How do I create several different QR codes from a CSV?

Download the CSV template from Bulk create. Keep its five headings: mode,type,name,destination,fields_json. Save the file as UTF-8. Each import accepts up to 100 data rows, plus the header, within the displayed file-size limit. The header is row 1; the first data row is row 2. A quoted field spanning several text lines still counts as one CSV row.

Choose Check file and review every proposed code and error. Checking creates no codes. Fix errors in the source CSV and check it again before choosing Create. Creating makes all the codes in that batch together or none. Editable codes also need room in your account's existing code allowance. Repeated rows create separate codes; importing does not update existing codes.

If the response is interrupted, open that same batch and check its status before trying again. Repeating the same completed batch returns its saved results while they remain available. Uploading the file again creates a new batch and can create duplicates. Completed results offer a CSV and a ZIP of PNG or SVG images until the displayed expiry.

There is no undo for an import. Delete editable codes created by mistake. Removing saved batch data deletes its preview or result, not the codes it created or images already downloaded. A fixed code stores its content in the image; deleting a result cannot recall copies of that image.

Use the supported fields for code content only. Do not import contact lists, form answers, credentials or unrelated private notes. Use destinations and content you have the right to share. For many copies of one existing code, use a print sheet instead.

What can I do with the API?

Create an API key in Developer access and choose only the permissions your tool needs. The supported permissions let a tool read codes, create and edit supported code types, delete codes, or read recorded scan counts. A key acts on its owning account, not a team member's shared-code access. The API does not return form-answer text or individual scan details.

The full API key is shown only once. Copy it somewhere private and treat it like a password. Send it in the Authorization: Bearer header, never in a URL, printed QR code or public example. Revoke a lost or exposed key and create another. Revocation refuses new requests; work already accepted may finish.

You can have up to 10 active keys. Each key allows up to 60 calls per UTC minute. Check the developer reference for the supported operations, required fields and error responses.

For creation, save the Idempotency-Key and exact request body. Within the 24-hour request-record period, retry with the same API key, Idempotency-Key and identical body. A changed body with the same keys is rejected. A different API key, new Idempotency-Key or retry after expiry can create a duplicate. Fetch the current code version before editing or deleting. Check results before repeating work after an uncertain response.

When are webhook notifications sent, and what do they contain?

Choose scan or form-submission notifications and a public HTTPS destination you control. You can save up to 5 webhooks, including disabled ones. A new webhook starts turned off and sends nothing until you choose Enable or explicitly queue a test.

Copy the signing secret when it is shown; it is shown only once. Set up signature verification at your destination before trusting notifications. If the secret is lost or exposed, delete that webhook, create another and update your receiving service. An API key and a webhook signing secret are different credentials.

Notifications contain the event ID, type, time, code ID and response ID when applicable. They contain no answer text or individual scan details. A test uses sample data with no code or response ID. This API has no form-answer-reading operation; a response ID does not give its holder access to an answer.

Delivery attempts run hourly. A scheduled retry waits for an hourly run at or after its scheduled time. Notifications may be late, repeated, out of order or unavailable; they are not a complete event history. Check Delivery history and your receiving service. A successful HTTP response confirms that the destination responded, not that its workflow finished.

After repeated delivery failures or a full queue, the webhook is turned off. Waiting notifications are paused and kept until they expire. Check the destination, then choose Enable to resume those still available.

Choosing Disable cancels waiting notifications. Choosing Delete also removes this webhook and its delivery history. A delivery already in progress may still arrive. Copies at the receiving service remain. Removing an API key does not turn off a separate webhook.

How does the Google Sheets feed work?

Create a read-only CSV feed in Connections, copy its link when it is shown, and use a spreadsheet workflow that can fetch CSV. You can have up to 5 active feeds. The link is shown only once. Treat it like a password: anyone with it can read the feed, and spreadsheet collaborators may see it in formulas or keep copies.

The feed contains code keys, names and recorded scan counts for the last 30 UTC days. It includes the owning account's current codes within its allowance, rather than only a team member's selected codes. It contains no form answers or individual scan details. ovbq does not sign in to Google, choose a spreadsheet or tab, or write cells. Your spreadsheet's fetching behavior controls when it requests another copy; continuous or two-way synchronization is not promised.

Revoke the feed to refuse new requests. A response already being sent may finish, and spreadsheet copies remain. If you lose the link, revoke the old feed and create another. Keep the link out of public sheets, shared examples and screenshots.

Can I send a QR code straight to Canva?

Download its PNG or SVG artwork, then upload it yourself to your Canva design using a format your account accepts. ovbq does not sign in to Canva or transfer the image automatically. The new artwork shortcut is separate from ordinary existing code downloads.

Share only artwork and logos you have the right to use. A QR image contains the information it encodes, which may include personal information. Changes to its appearance do not update images already uploaded elsewhere. Check the destination and scan a sample at the size you intend to print.

Does ovbq connect automatically to Zapier?

Use your own workflow with Webhooks by Zapier and the available ovbq API or webhook method. This is a setup recipe, not a listed ovbq Zapier app or an automatic account connection.

Choose the exact trigger, action and fields in your workflow, keep credentials private, and test both sides before relying on it. Use only the method currently available to your account, and follow its reference for permissions, data fields and timing. Check the workflow's status, access requirements and any charges in Zapier. Stopping a workflow does not remove copies it already sent elsewhere.

Can my QR code play a video or audio?

Yes. On Pro and Business, a Video or audio page can play a supported MP4 video or MP3 audio you upload, open a supported YouTube, Vimeo or SoundCloud link, or offer both. Free does not include these pages.

Video: Pro up to 32 MB and 2 minutes; Business up to 64 MB and 5 minutes. Audio: Pro up to 16 MB and 10 minutes; Business up to 32 MB and 20 minutes. Both size and length limits apply to each upload.

Recordings, captions, transcripts and poster images use your account's existing file storage. Every page needs a complete descriptive transcript; uploaded video with speech or important sounds also needs captions. We don't remove details stored inside video or audio files. Opening an outside recording sends your request to that service under its own terms and privacy policy; restrictions on your ovbq page do not protect the recording there.
