QR codes for gyms and fitness studios

Class times change every season, but the sign at the front desk doesn't have to. Put one editable code on it and point it at this season's schedule.

One sign, every new schedule

An editable code holds a short ovbq link. Today it opens your winter schedule. When spring classes start, sign in, paste the link to the new schedule and save. The sign stays on the wall, and the next member who scans it sees the right times.

Where gyms put codes

  • The front desk and the entrance, for the class schedule and booking.
  • Each machine, opening a short how-to video on your website or video page.
  • Locker room mirrors, for this week's events or a member survey on your own site.
  • Flyers and the front window, pointing to your trial class sign-up page.

Each code's page shows scans over the last 30 days and by hour of the day, plus the kind of phone. You can see whether members check the schedule before the morning rush or after work. On Pro and Business, it also shows which countries the scans came from. We never record a city or GPS position.

Size it for the room

A code on a machine is read from about 1 ft (30 cm), so it should be at least 1.2 in (3 cm) wide, not counting its white border. A schedule sign on the wall, read from about 6 ft (1.8 m), needs at least 7.1 in (18 cm). Print dark on light, and test one before you put up a code on every machine. For many copies at once, the print sheet puts up to 20 machine-sized codes on one Letter page (24 on A4), with crop marks.

Trainers, Wi-Fi and plans

A contact card code saves a trainer's name, phone and email to a member's phone, and a Wi-Fi code lets members join without typing. Both are fixed codes, free on our free QR code maker, and they never count toward a plan.

Free covers 2 editable codes. Pro, at $9 a month, covers 50, enough for the desk, the machines and every flyer. Business, at $29 a month, covers 500, for several locations. If a paid plan ends, nothing changes for 30 days, then your 2 oldest website-link codes stay on Free and a scan of any other sign still gets a button to its page. See what happens if you stop paying.

You can also pay yearly, with 2 months free: see pricing.

For your offer and terms, with an optional code and last day, make a coupon page on Pro or Business. Customers show it at checkout.

Give customers one page for your hours, contact details and the place you want them to visit. A business page QR code keeps that information together.
